The Center for Autism Research (CAR) is a multifaceted center that coordinates and supports research on autism spectrum disorders (ASD) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. Autism is a complex disorder involving different levels of functioning and outcomes. One goal of the research at CAR is to understand the root of these differences – why and how children with an ASD differ from one another and how those differences translate into different treatment needs and developmental courses.
