"THE SUMMER ADVENTURES FOR ALL KIDS, including kids with disabilities" idea was birthed back in 2004 by a group of professionals and parents who had a similar problem; finding good and safe summer time activities for their disabled children. There were several different splinter groups giving out information but nothing on a larger scale. In 2006, over 2000 families came to get information for their children for summer time activities from approximately 100 vendors. They also got fire and police safety help, autographs from retired and current sports celebrities, an opportunity to be a part of a live broadcast from WARM 98 and 8 entertainment group performances emceed by Channel 9's own Steve Raleigh.
