Founded in 2003, the Cincinnati Center for Autism (CCA) provides a variety of services designed to help children with autism reach their fullest potential. Our programs address many of the behavioral, social, communication and motor delays common in children with autism. CCA was founded by Matthew Brennan, a Cincinnati area businessman and the father of a child with autism. Frustrated by the lack of services available and the desire to provide parents a place to go for information, Mr. Brennan founded the Center to fill these needs and to assist families in seeking treatments for their children and comfort in their lives.

Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities Adult Programs
Web: www.clermontdd.org/pages/adult_services.html
Two sheltered workshops are located in the Batavia area, to assist the individual to gain additional vocational training. The Grissom Building and Donald A. Collins Habilitiaton Center offer adults with disabilities the opportunity to earn a paycheck while continuing to development necessary skills needed to gain community employment. The Adult Leisure Program moved to the Wildey Center in September, 2008 and serves as an activity center so that people have the opporutnity to choose alternative activities to regular work environments.
The Community Employment Services Department serves adults who are actively seeking employment within the community. This division of the Clermont DD program will meet with employers/business owners to inquire about open positions within their companies. Once an individual is matched with the job, staff from the Community Employment Services Department assist the individual with mock interviews. If the person is hired, a Job Coach works with the person to do the actual training. This happenes because it might take someone 4-6 weeks to learn the job successfully (depending upon the work skills of the individual) and an employer does not always have staff available to do the training.
Clermont DD also has many enclaves (or mobile work crews) who work as a team within a business or gainzation. Each team consists of 4-5 individuals who are supervised by a staff person from Clermont DD. They complete the job according to what the business owner needs. Currently, we have enclaves that work at the following locations: The Sportsman's Market (Clermont County Airport), Bryan Equipment, the Clermont County Records Management Department, and Country Inn and Suites Hotel. We also have a Lawn Crew who maintain cemeteries and ball fields in the Batavia area during the spring, summer, and fall months.
Retirement is something all senior citizens enjoy, and seniors with developmental disabilities are no exception. The Clermont DD Senior Retirement Program (for people ages 55 and up) is located at the Thomas A. Wildey Center and gives seniors the opportunity to stay busy, remain connected to their friends, and attend community outings each week.

The program works with the whole child; that is, the childs developmental needs are addressed from a cognitive,
psychological, emotional and physical perspective. After the child is assessed by a conductor, specific goals are set for the child. Each childs route and timeline toward maximum independence depends on many factors, including the support of the family, the childs
motivation, the type and severity of the disability and the age of the child.

Special Needs Ministry Here at Crossroads we believe that God has called us to reach out to people with Special Needs. We interview both students and volunteers to find "buddies" to be paired with the child so that they can have a consistent friend each week at Kid's Club. This "Buddy" helps the child they are paired with to connect with their community of peers and ensures that we are doing everything we can to communicate the message in a manner that these kids can understand. We believe that this arrangement blesses everyone involved! If you would like more information
about our amazing Special Needs program please contact Harmony Hensley.
